Government salary and job title information has been obtained via various Freedom of Information Act requests or from other official publications. Publishing this data allows for increased transparency and insight into the inner workings of the United States government. Government records are often cryptic, encoded and difficult to decipher. The easy-to-use and searchable database helps to fully disclose public data in a meaningful and informative way.

It is the goal of this website to educate and inform American taxpayers on exactly where and how their money is spent in relation to one of the biggest expenditures most government entities may have; that being headcount and salaries. Furthermore, publishing this infromation as well as listing averages and total counts per job title allows for anyone to explore the data in an easy and searchable way to perhaps uncover inefficiencies, waste, favoritism, and/or fraud.
